New Video: Trey Songz – Heart Attack

My baby TREY SONGZ is making a return to the music scene – this time by showing his more heartfelt and sincere side.

Unfortunately I am not the girl in the video.

But Kelly Rowland is! And I actually think they’d make such a cute couple.

Speaking on reasons of why he chose the song as his new single, Trey said: “I think it is a different first look for me with my persona and image being – the guy that is cool, the guy who invented sex, the neighbours know my name, the cool guy – with this record showing women that men can be vulnerable too and that even the most confident man can have a state that he is hurting”

Heart Attack (Produced by the awesome Rico Love in collaboration with Benny Blanco) is the lead single of Trey’s forthcoming album Chapter V – which is scheduled for release later this year.

Video Premiere: Rihanna – Where Have You Been

Barely 10 minutes ago, pop force RIHANNA dropped the world premiere of her new video for “Where Have You Been” –  ***Screams**** – my reaction went a little like that to be quite honest. Sorry.

I actually literally couldn’t wait for this video to drop, i’ve been waiting for it for weeks! (Its my favourite song from Talk That Talk) and my girl definitely didn’t disappoint! I love how she’s started dancing in her videos, you can tell she’s worked hard to get this video to the high standard that its at in terms of the choreography and visuals. I do wish it had a bit of storyline though, but I guess you can’t have everything.

The MTV VMAS better take note this year. They better not snub her like they did last year…

Check out the video below!

I can’t wait to finally hear this song live at Wireless in July!!

New Music: Misha B – Why Hello World [Mixtape]

Former X Factor contestant MISHA BRYAN just took to twitter to announce the release of her debut mixtape “Why Hello World”.

“So here it is!! http://smarturl.it/WhyHelloWorld Download for free now, TURN IT UP and ENJOY!! #mishabmixtape X” (IamMishaB)

It literally only took me two minutes to decide if I loved it or not… She is so underrated its a joke. Her mixtape really showcases the energy in her vocals.

My favourite bit has to be her version of Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars Mirror on the Wall (Around 12:58)

People Magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman: Beyoncé

 The cover says it all.

But if you haven’t already heard, PEOPLE Magazine has named BEYONCE (You know? The 16 time Grammy award winner, resident wig snatcher, career ender etc, okay, okay let me put my stanning aside for this post) – The Worlds Most Beautiful Woman of 2012. (with her flawless self)

The singer, who recently gave birth to her and Jay-Z’s first child – a daughter, Blue Ivy told People: “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this Earth.”

“I didn’t feel that I looked beautiful during birth, but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight … I barely recognized myself,” she explains, but after many hours of labour, I could care less about anything but my child. I didn’t care how I looked.” she explains.

For more of Bey’s exclusive interview, pick up a copy of PEOPLE from newstands . Its also available in WHSmith for any UK’ers reading this.

In the meantime, check out the Behind The Scenes video for her cover shoot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViXNt8RVNQo&feature=player_embedded She’s such a cornball! <3

That Awkward Moment: When Drake Says “No”

Its been almost a week since this happened – but I’m still slightly vexed so i’m going to write this post to get a few things off my chest.

On Thursday 19th April, me and two of my friends went to see DRAKE on his Club Paradise tour in Birmingham. The show was amazing, he’s amazing live – nothing’s going to change that. It was worth queuing in the pouring rain and freezing cold just to be near the front for his set.

The day after, to cut a long story short; we ended up at the Hyatt hotel in Birmingham, where Drake was staying. It also turned out that one of our friends had actually stayed the night there after his show, so we got to go inside no problem. There were loads of Drake fans waiting outside trying to get a glimpse of him. We went in the lift and went on a little tour of the hotel ’cause we were bored. We were walking along the corridor of the top floor when Drake’s bodyguard appeared and started following us, before disappearing into his room/suite..

After a few hours of going back and forth between the hotel restaurant and the front, we finally decided to sit down on the table and chairs in the hotel lobby. At around 5pm, the hotels security told some fans that he’d left, but we’d decided he was lying. So we stayed inside the hotel drinking coffee etc. At around 6PM,  Drake randomly came downstairs and sat at the table directly by us. He was by himself, but was eventually joined by his whole team. After a while we decided to walk over to his table, and it went a little like this;

Us: “So sorry to bother you.. But can we please have a photo when you get a chance?” (Bearing in mind that there was just 3 of us).

Drake: “NO”

He then proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the ‘conversation’, when my friend was telling him how amazing his show was he just ignored her even though he clearly heard her. Oh.

Here’s a list of reasons why i’m mad:

1. I love Drake. He’s technically my favourite rapper (along with Kanye and Jigga), so this was a bit of a disappointment to say the least.

2. Fair enough he didn’t have to take a photo, i’m not mad about that! That’s completely fine! Its just the way he was so rude about it.

3. I’m sorry, but when the likes of BEYONCE, RIHANNA, NICKI MINAJ, KATY PERRY, LADY GAGA, JAY-Z and even JUSTIN BIEBER can be polite, no one else really has an excuse. None whatsoever.

Still love Drizzy and his music though <3 (Which is a bit hypocritical). I just like him a little less as a person.  Maybe he was just having a bad day? Hmm

New Video: Alexandra Burke – Let It Go

ALEXANDRA BURKE has dropped the video for her latest single “Let It Go”.

“Let it go” is the second single from Alex’s upcoming sophomore album, “Heartbreak on Hold” – which is scheduled for release on June 4th this year.

After listening to “Elephant” i’ve been looking forward to this new direction of music AB’s been taking and I really like what i’ve heard so far. I love how she’s doing whatever she wants! But – You know when you just listen to a song that just speaks to you?  A song that can lift your spirits in an instant because of its lyrics? “Let it go” does just that for me and I’m actually not even being bias! (before anyone says anything.) You only have to read the lyrics to see why. I definitely prefer the track over “Elephant” and to be honest the video pretty much makes me just want to jump on the tube and PARTYYY!

Anyway. Check out the official music video for “Let it go” below.

BTW: Alex, feel free to let a girl (like me) borrow those fierce shoes! Thanks. And any spare Louboutins you have your closet would happily find a place in my home too, just saying!

“Heartbreak on Hold” (Including limited edition signed copies) is available to pre-order from http://bit.ly/Iww1TG  now.

Album Review: Melanie Fiona – The MF Life.

Okay, I simply HAD to write a review on MELANIE FIONA new album The MF Life – ’cause I’ve literally had it on repeat non-stop for the past 2 weeks or so.

I first heard of Melanie when she dropped her second U.S single “It Kills Me” in 2009. Since then – the 28-year-old Canadian has been working hard on her sophomore album and the follow up to her debut “The Bridge”.

The MF life in short; is an album filled with several emotionally charged, thought provoking and heart-warming songs running on old but soulful harmonies, that any fan of R&B or music with real meaning will love. It tells a story, from the postive and uplifting “This Time” which features fellow Roc Nation label mate, J. Cole.  – In which Melanie declares “This time i’m doing much better” to the solemn yet heart-wrenchingly beautiful Gone And Never Coming Back” in which she tells an emotional tale of the ups and downs in a relationship, showing her more emotional and vulnerable side and allowing listeners to relate and understand.

It actually makes me feel some type of way over how underrated she is. Its rare that you get singers such as her with a vocal talent and strength that irreplaceable, combined with her song-writing skills (Did I mention she had a hand in writing almost every single song on this album?)

Track to skip to: Change the Record (Ft. B.O.B)

Single Cover: Rihanna – Where Have You Been

RIHANNA recently tweeted the single cover of her latest single “Where Have You Been”.

“Where Have You Been” is Fenty’s third international single from “Talk That Talk” and I can’t actually wait to see the video for it! It’s possibly my overall most favourite song of “Talk That Talk” (It’s a draw between this and Do Ya Thang) and it’s got summer smash written ALL over it! The video’s going to be fiiiiyahhh!

Video Premiere: Drake Ft. Rihanna – Take Care

So, after weeks and weeks and more WEEKS of waiting (well it definitely feels like that) Everyone’s favourite Canadian rapper DRAKE has finally dropped the much anticipated video for “Take Care”, the title track from his latest album of the same name.

The song, which features Rihanna, is a favourite amongst many fans including myself, the video however – is a different story. Although I have to admit its cute, I don’t understand why he kept us waiting for that… if you get what I mean? With that being said though, considering the videos simplistic artistic imagery and thought provoking cryptic scenes (bar the lack of storyline, but i’ll let that one go) I think it does work, its just I was expecting more.

The Black and White video was directed by French director Yoann Lemoine, who has also behind music videos such as Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream and Lana Del Ray’s Born To Die.

Check out “Take Care” below.
